SMNHA - Memberships

• Members of the Suisun Marsh Natural History Association receive our quarterly newsletter, The Otter Chatter, complete with natural history articles, updates on events and reports on the association's progress.

• Special events are scheduled regularly, most of which are free to members, $7.00 per person for non-members.

• Those who help support our efforts also gain the great satisfaction of knowing that they share in a vital conservation effort and that they are contributing to the repair of our fragile ecosystem.

• Our most important function is the Suisun Wildlife Center. Handling over 1,000 wild animals per year, we are Solano County's Wildlife Rehabilitation Service. Our support comes solely from the generosity of many private individuals - such as yourself - and through organizations.  With only two paid staff members, we are volunteer driven.  It is truly a grass roots effort.

• The 116,000 acre Suisun Marsh is the largest brackish marsh in the United States, and is the largest remaining coastal wetland in California. It is essential that we understand how this valuable ecosystem operates and make a contribution to its survival.  For this reason, we have continued to increase our Environmental Education presentations on the Suisun Marsh as well as Wildlife Rescue.  We feel that through this effort, children can be introduced to our collective environmental challenges at an early age.
